Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense is extracted from resins of the Boswellia tree. These resins are traded by people in Oman as early as thousands of years ago.
Due to its strong aroma and white smoke as it is burned, these resins are used for many religious activities.
The Uses of Frankincense Essential Oil:
Frankincense Essential Oil has a sweeter, cleaner and fresher aroma as compared to its resins. For that reason, the essential oil is heavily used as a deodorant and to improve oral health.
It helps in skin conditions such as removing scars and blemishes. Moreover, it helps to reduce cough and phlegms, perfect for those who have dry cough.
When Should You Use Frankincense Essential Oil?
When you have bad breath:
Oral care products in the market aren't enough to eliminate bad breath effectively. However, mixing frankincense oil with these products not only eliminates bad breath, but also prevent tooth decays.
When you need to purify your room:
Diffuse 3 drops of frankincense oil around your room and the air with be clean and fresh. You could easily deodorize the entire room with this method.
If you have visible scars:
Dilute 2 to 3 drops of frankincense oil with coconut carrier oil, and apply them onto the healing area. Gently rub them around the area and the scars with start to cure.
If you're coughing a lot:
Before you start this method, please note that frankincense oil is not for ingestion. In order to reduce coughing, add 3 drops of oil onto a clean cloth and inhale it directly from your nose. This method will clear your lungs and reduce phlegm at the same time.
When you feel stressed out:
This works best for those who work all day long or those who had a rough day. Add 3 drops of frankincense oil into your hot bath and have a nice shower. You'll feel relaxed after the bath.
Example of Frankincense Essential Oil Usages:
- Ladies often use this oil to prevent wrinkles. Simply add 6 drops of frankincense oil with 1 ounce of coconut oil, and apply them over your face to reduce face wrinkles.
